    2024 VA Disability Payment Schedule

CCK Law: Our Vital Role in Veterans Law

VA’s 2024 disability payment schedule determines when veterans will receive their monthly VA disability compensation payments.  These monthly payments are important for veterans and their families, so understanding when they will receive them is crucial.  To learn more about when you can expect to receive your VA disability monthly compensation in 2024, continue reading.

Using VA Math to Determine Your Compensation Rate

Typically, veterans’ disability ratings determine their VA compensation rate.  If a veteran has multiple service-connected conditions, their combined disability rating determines their monthly compensation rate.

Combined disability ratings are calculated by adding together the disability ratings of each individual service-connected condition using VA math.  Since VA math can be confusing and challenging, CCK developed a VA disability calculator to help veterans more easily calculate their combined ratings.

Additional Compensation Benefits for Service-Connected Veterans

Veterans with a combined rating of 30 percent or higher and qualifying dependents may also be eligible for additional compensation.  Qualifying dependents include:

    • A spouse
    • Dependent parents
    • Children under the age of 18
    • Children between the age of 18 and 23 who are in school

Monthly compensation amounts based on dependent status can be found using our 2024 VA Disability Pay Chart.

VA Disability Compensation Rates for 2024

Each fiscal year, the Social Security Administration (SSA) sets a cost-of-living adjustment (COLA) which VA then uses to adjust VA disability compensation rates.  The 2024 cost-of-living adjustment is 3.2 percent.
