    Sleep apnea is a sleep disorder in which breathing is briefly and repeatedly interrupted during sleep. Veterans who develop sleep apnea following military service may be entitled to service-connected compensation. There are several ways to establish service connection for sleep apnea and VA will look at multiple factors when assigning a disability rating.
