Virtual Reality Job Training Can Help Veterans with PTSD Find Work

The Huffington Post recently published an article discussing a new job-interview training program that helps veterans with PTSD improve their interview skills. The program, Job Interview Training with Molly Porter was created by a software company, SIMmersion and has been used in the past to help FBI agents with interview training. When a user starts the program, an interview will be launched with a virtual human resources professional who asks common interview questions and also specific ones that a veteran may have trouble answering. Each user will have a handful of responses to choose from and the interview will proceed. At the end of the interview, each user will be provided with a transcript of the interview and feedback of how they can improve in the future. Studies have shown that participants who have completed this software training were twice as likely to receive a job offer within six months. The program can be purchased online or accessed through public places such as job training centers.
