CCK attorney Jonathan Greene shared his insights on how to increase the chances of winning VA disability claims with more than 150 veterans law practioners at the National Organization of Veterans Advocates (NOVA) fall 2016 conference held in Providence, RI.
Jon explained that proper evidentiary development is the key to winning most cases. While VA has a duty to assist, you should not trust VA to do the job for you. Be sure that your claim forms are completed accurately and completely. Gather your own medical records and employment records and submit them to VA. This may speed up the process and provide you with the peace of mind that VA has the records. Jon also emphasized the importance of creativity and thinking outside the box. Witness statements, expert opinions, and financial reports can provide powerful evidence to support your claim.
