Community Engagement (June 2026): Legal, Housing, and Resource Support for Veterans
Throughout June, CCK Law strengthened its commitment to veterans and military families across Georgia through community partnerships, sponsorships, educational outreach, and volunteer service with a number of local and national organizations:
United Military Care
CCK Law participated in United Military Care’s We CARE Vet Fair in Rome, Georgia, one of the state’s largest veteran resource events. The two-day event brought together more than 1,200 veterans and military families and 100 organizations dedicated to serving them. The event created opportunities to help veterans access critical resources and information about VA disability benefits and appeals while strengthening relationships across Georgia’s veteran-serving community.
Habitat for Humanity
The firm also sponsored Habitat for Humanity of NW Metro Atlanta’s Veteran Home Build for U.S. Army veteran Luis and his family. Habitat’s work creates pathways to affordable homeownership while fostering long-term stability and opportunity. CCK Law team members joined the project’s final home beautification phase, helping prepare the home and surrounding property as the family moved closer to homeownership.
The Warrior Alliance Women Veterans Think Tank
CCK Law also participated in The Warrior Alliance Women Veterans Think Tank: Blueprint for Action Summit in Atlanta. The summit convened women veterans, advocates, and community leaders to discuss access to:
- Care and benefits
- Caregiving and family support
- Community connection
- Other priorities affecting women who have served
The discussions highlighted the importance of elevating women veterans’ voices and advancing collaborative solutions that strengthen support systems and improve outcomes.
Genesis Joy House
In addition, CCK Law facilitated a discussion with graduates of Genesis Joy House, Georgia’s only transitional housing program dedicated exclusively to women veterans and their minor children. Genesis Joy House provides housing and supportive services that help women veterans build stability and achieve long-term self-sufficiency.
The conversation created an opportunity to hear directly from women veterans about their experiences, challenges, and priorities, helping ensure women veterans’ perspectives inform future engagement efforts and partnerships.
Soldiers’ Angels Atlanta
Volunteer service remained a key focus throughout the month of June. Team members supported the monthly Soldiers’ Angels Atlanta food distribution at the VA Arcadia Clinic in Decatur, helping provide groceries and essential items to approximately 300 veterans and military families experiencing food insecurity.
Additional Outreach in June 2026
In June, CCK Law also continued its outreach efforts through engagement with the Catholic War Veterans USA Atlanta Chapter and VetBuds during their monthly meetings. These gatherings provided opportunities to connect directly with veterans, answer questions, and share information about VA disability benefits, appeals, and available resources.
In addition, CCK Law delivered a training for Atlanta Legal Aid on navigating the VA disability benefits system and appeals process. The session provided attorneys and advocates with a deeper understanding of veterans’ benefits and marked the beginning of a new referral partnership that will help connect more Georgia veterans with trusted legal resources and support.
Through strategic partnerships, sponsorships, educational engagement, and volunteer service, CCK Law remained committed to serving veterans beyond the claims process and supporting the communities in which they live, work, and thrive.
