CCK Law Community Engagement (July 2026): Supporting Veterans Through Education, Opportunity & Connection

Throughout July 2026, CCK Law strengthened its commitment to veterans and military families across Georgia by expanding access to education, deepening community partnerships, and connecting veterans with trusted information about VA disability benefits and appeals.

Education remained a central focus throughout the month, as the firm delivered a series of learning opportunities designed to equip veterans and frontline professionals with a deeper understanding of the VA disability claims and appeals process.

Community Engagement Across Georgia

Collectively, these educational sessions reached more than 65 veterans, transitioning service members, nonprofit professionals, and volunteers, equipping participants with practical guidance while strengthening the capacity of organizations that serve veterans across Georgia.

Veterans Empowerment Organization (VEO)

The firm presented to veterans and staff at Veterans Empowerment Organization (VEO), reaching 11 participants through a discussion on VA disability benefits and appeals. VEO empowers veterans through housing, behavioral health services, workforce development, and supportive services that promote long-term self-sufficiency.

Gateway Center

At Gateway Center, CCK Law delivered a training for 25 staff members during the organization’s quarterly meeting after being invited by its Director of Operations. Gateway Center helps people experiencing homelessness move toward stable housing through coordinated housing, health, employment, and supportive services, including specialized programs for veterans.

Soldiers’ Angels Atlanta

The firm also continued its quarterly educational partnership with Soldiers’ Angels Atlanta by providing training to 15 staff members and volunteers, many of whom are veterans themselves, helping them better support veterans navigating the VA disability claims and appeals process.

Georgia VECTR Center

In the city of Warner Robins, CCK Law presented to 16 veterans and transitioning service members at the Georgia VECTR Center, which connects veterans, transitioning service members, National Guard members, reservists, and military spouses with education, employment, VA benefits, and community resources.

CCK Law staff were asked to make presentations to the VECTR Center veterans and transitioning service members quarterly. Together, these engagements expanded awareness of VA disability benefits while providing practical tools and resources to veterans and the professionals who support them.

United Military Care

CCK Law also represented its veterans disability practice at United Military Care’s We CARE Vet Fair in Columbus, Georgia, one of the state’s premier veteran resource events. The event welcomed approximately 2,000 veterans, military families, caregivers, survivors, and community members alongside more than 100 veteran-serving organizations.

Throughout the event, CCK Law Community Engagement Lead Nicole Goodrich spoke with approximately 120 veterans and family members, answering questions about VA disability benefits and appeals and connecting attendees with additional resources and support. The event built on the firm’s participation in June’s We CARE Vet Fair in Rome, GA, and further strengthened relationships across Georgia’s veteran-serving community.

Habitat for Humanity of Northwest Metro Atlanta

July also marked the dedication of Habitat for Humanity of NW Metro Atlanta’s Veteran Home Build for U.S. Army veteran Luis and his family. As a project sponsor, CCK Law celebrated alongside the family as they received the keys to their new home.

Earlier in the build, Nicole Goodrich and CCK Law Digital Marketing Director Stephen Cribben volunteered during Build Day 8, and Partner Brad Hennings spoke at the home dedication ceremony, recognizing the partnerships and volunteer efforts that helped make homeownership possible for Luis and his family.

These engagements continued to strengthen CCK Law’s statewide network of veteran-serving organizations, creating new opportunities for collaboration and expanding pathways for veterans to access trusted legal resources.

The Warrior Alliance

The firm also advanced discussions with The Warrior Alliance to establish a referral partnership through its statewide Veteran Legal Services Network. The Warrior Alliance connects veterans, service members, and their families with hundreds of vetted service providers across Georgia, helping ensure timely access to critical resources.

Once established, the partnership will expand veterans’ access to trusted legal counsel while strengthening coordination among Georgia’s veteran-serving organizations.

Through education, strategic partnerships, and community engagement, CCK Law continued to strengthen Georgia’s veteran-serving network while expanding veterans’ access to trusted legal information, community resources, and the support they need to successfully navigate the VA disability claims and appeals process.
