Episode 114: CAVC Process and Timeline

The Court of Appeals for Veterans Claims, or the CAVC, is a federal court with jurisdiction over decisions made by the Board of Veterans’ Appeals. The CAVC determines whether the BVA had the facts and law correct when it denied a claimant’s appeal. To do so, the CAVC uses case files, written arguments (briefs) from both parties, and sometimes oral arguments.
