VA Disability Pay Dates for 2022
Video Transcription
Jenna Zelmer: Welcome to CCK Live Under Five. My name is Jenna Zelmer and today we are breaking down the 2022 VA Disability Payment Schedule.
So, just for a little bit of background, VA disability compensation is a tax-free monetary benefit paid to veterans with service-connected conditions. The amount of monthly compensation you’re going to receive will depend on your combined disability rating, and disability ratings range from 0 to 100 percent in increments of 10. So, veterans may also qualify for extra compensation in certain situations, such as if they have eligible dependents or if they are entitled to special monthly compensation.
VA disability compensation rates typically increase each year as a result of the cost-of-living adjustment, or COLA, which is set by Congress. For 2022, the COLA increase is 5.9 percent. This increase is going to start in December of 2021.
So, usually, disability benefits for a particular month will be paid on the first business day of the following month. And if the first business day of the month falls on a holiday or a weekend, then VA benefits will be paid on the last business day of the preceding month.
So, for example, the 2022 payment schedule will go as follows: January of 2022 payments will be made on Tuesday, February 1, 2022; March 2022 payments will be made on Friday, April 1, 2022; and April 2022 payments will be made on Friday, April 29.
So, VA disability rates for 2022 based on the COLA increase and the next year’s payment schedule can be found on our blog and on our YouTube channel. Thanks for tuning in. And please don’t forget to like this video and subscribe to our channel for more.
