Fox News discussed a new VA program that aims to help homeless veterans find stable jobs. The VA’s Homeless Veterans Community Employment Services program, will assist job-ready veterans in finding stable employment. The program uses community employment coordinators (CEC’s) to identify job-ready veterans, build relationships with local employers and work with the veterans to help them succeed. In some cases, the CEC’s will also provide clothing for job interviews and assist the veterans with transportation. In rural areas, CEC’s are trying to expand bus services to get veterans to work. The program strives to help veterans sustain long-term employment and improve their quality of life, self-confidence and independence. Hopefully the program will be successful in finding veterans stable jobs and helping them sustain their employment.
