VA finds mismanaged claims at Oakland RO

The VA Office of Inspector General released a report yesterday in which it described its review of allegations that nearly 14,000 informal claims, some dating back to the 1990s, had not been processed at the Oakland RO.  The OIG substantiated that claims had not been properly processed or stored.  As a result, some veterans did not receive consideration for benefits to which they were entitled.  Read the report here.
