Vietnam Memorial Moving Wall

Chisholm Chisholm & Kilpatrick LTD is a sponsor of the upcoming arrival of the Vietnam Memorial Moving Wall at Ponaganset High School. The memorial will be open to the public from November 1 to November 5, 2018.

The Moving Wall is a half-size replica of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington D.C. The Moving Wall travels around the country, allowing veterans and the public to visit and view a memorial to the men and women who served and died during the Vietnam War.

“Bringing the Moving Wall to Rhode Island is an opportunity for Vietnam veterans in our community to visit a memorial honoring their service, as well as the service of those who made the ultimate sacrifice for their country,” said CCK Partner Robert Chisholm, who has been representing disabled veterans since 1990. “Placing it at a local high school brings an additional opportunity to teach young people about the service and sacrifice that veterans have made for our country.”

Chisholm Chisholm & Kilpatrick LTD represents veterans who have a disability related to their military service. The attorneys and veterans advocates at the law firm honor those who have served by helping them secure benefits when their service causes a disability. Sponsoring the Moving Wall this November is another opportunity to recognize military veterans.

“We hope the Moving Wall’s stay in Rhode Island inspires people to honor veterans in whatever way they can, whether that means donating to a veterans charity or simply thanking a veteran for serving our country,” said Attorney Chisholm. “It might even inspire young people to serve their country as well, whether via military service or in some other way.”

The Moving Wall will be open to the public 24 hours a day starting at 9 a.m. on November 1 through 6 p.m. on November 5. The memorial will require the presence of local police and fire officials. Chisholm Chisholm & Kilpatrick’s sponsorship of the Moving Wall will help finance coordination of its display at Ponaganset High School.

About the Vietnam Memorial Moving Wall

The Moving Wall is a half-size replica of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial located in Washington D.C. Vietnam veteran John Devitt, along with help from other veterans of the Vietnam War, built the Moving Wall and first displayed it in Tyler, Texas in 1984. Devitt was inspired to build the mobile version of the memorial when he attended the dedication of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington D.C. in 1982. There are now two versions of the Moving Wall that travel the country every year from April to November.
