John A. Souza
John joined Chisholm Chisholm & Kilpatrick (CCK) in May 2018 as a Summer Associate and began a full-time position at CCK in September 2019 as an Associate Attorney. His practice focuses on representing disabled veterans before the United States Court of Appeals for Veterans Claims.
Prior to joining CCK, John earned his B.S. in Criminal Justice from Saint Leo University in 2010. Thereafter, John earned his J.D., cum laude, from Roger Williams University School of Law in 2019. During law school, John served as a Staff Member for the Roger Williams University Law Review and published a case survey, which can be found at Case Survey, Beagan v. R.I. Dept. of Labor & Training, Bd. of Review, 23 Roger Williams U. L. Rev. 707 (2017).
Before completing law school, John served five years as infantry in the United Stated Marine Corps, where he earned the rank of Sergeant. Additionally, John gained legal experience through working as a Summer Intern with the Responsible Parent Project at Rhode Island Legal Services in Providence, Rhode Island. Moreover, John interned with a criminal defense attorney in the Fall River District Court in Massachusetts where he defended clients that faced possible incarceration.
During his free time, John enjoys traveling to new destinations, landscape photography, playing guitar, and riding his motorcycle.
